GARAGE SALE!  MAY 21-22, 2011

A Garage sale will be on Saturday and Sunday May 21 and 22, 2011from 9 to 5 on the Jones tennis court. .We will have all sorts of goodies for sale as well as refreshments.. The Lakeside Wildlife people, Vern and Lori, will join us and have items to sell as well. So it is a "Help the Animals Yard Sale" to benefit two worthy animal organizations.

Paseo del  Mirador #14 upper La Floresta, watch for signs. There will be signs on the Carreterra to guide people to the Jones house.

We are still accepting donations for this sale, they can be dropped off at HandyMail, or call 766-3813 or 766-0780 for pick-up of large items.

OPEN HOUSE APRIL 10, 2011  1PM

Lakeside Spay & Neuter Ranch and Adoption Center is having an Open House on April 10th. starting at 1PM. This will give the community a chance to see the improvements made with the help of their donations. They can also see the dogs, walk them and perhaps adopt one or two, have a lunch of Hot Dogs or Hamburgers, join the camaraderie of the volunteers  and enjoy a few hours in the country.

All dogs have been spayed/neutered and have had all their shots and are hoping to go to a "forever home". If you are looking for companionship, love and protection, this is the place to find it. Two of the guests are new, thought they had a forever home, and then tragedy struck down their Mistress, leaving them homeless once again. Please ask about this mother and son. Lacy and Louis,  who have lost everything.

While there is never an adoption fee, any and all donations are accepted.

MARCH

A  Boat Ride on the Jocotopec boat.  The trip lasts three hours and will sail from the Ajijic wharf, around Scorpion Island to Chapala , and back to Ajijic.  There will be food, drinks, music and dancing on board.  Two free drinks per ticket, and after that a cash bar.   A maximum of 48 passengers at 350 pesos per ticket, so book early.  Ruben’s Restaurant will do the catering. 

The cruise will leave from Ajijic pier at 2:30 and return at 5:30. Tickets ar $300 pesos each and include snacks and one free beverage. A no host bar will be available as well. Seating is limited, tickets may still be bought at Handy Mail and Ruben's Grill. Watch the press for more.

We will keep you posted each quarter on what we have planned.  Please watch for events you want to participate in and support the For-Life Spay and Neuter Centre in any way you can.  We take in homeless, needy dogs and supply medical care and clean, spacious accommodation for about 80 dogs.  They are fed healthy food and their runs cleaned daily by our volunteers (with plenty of hugs for everyone).  If you’re able to adopt a dog, please pick one of ours.  They will love you for it.

FEBRUARY

February 18-20, 2011 at Toblandia! The Chili Cook-off has been held every year for four years.  This year is no exception and we will last three days.  Come and enjoy the signature open-faced pork loin sandwiches, slathered with homemade aioli and Herb Hazen's Valencian Paella (compliments of Ole, Ola Tapas Restaurant), and take home delicious home-made goodies, dog-baskets, hand-made crafts, etc

First a great big thank you to all of you who walked down the Memory Lane and made the KristKindle Markt a sucess.  Remember we will hold it again next year and hope to see you there. 7:30PM January 28th and 29th, 2011

Zaikocirco is a multidisciplinary show created by 'Luna Morena (Experimental Puppet Workshop)', and brought to you by "'magina' productions.

The name of the show is the result of the merger of terms psycho and circus. It's a show with a musical structure, which includes elements like: original music, fantastic costumes, makeup, juggling, puppetry, stilt walkers, acrobats and interaction with the audience.

Overall, the show consists in recovering the old jongleur shows that joined music, dance, circus and theater.

The orchestra formed by musicians from the conservatory of Guadalajara and international members, brings together 16 artists, the cast not only plays music, they also act, dance and performs circus arts

For this we need people who are willing to cook up an appetizer to be served by volunteers. This was a lovely event last year and Stephanie really had a "groaning board". Everyone enjoyed the delicious Jalepeno Poppers made by Jerry Smith and all the other goodies, too many to mention. More on this later.

Three Gals and a Guy Art Exhibit was a wonderful exhibit  - so much talent and we at the Lakeside Spay and Neuter Center whish to thank the artists to think of the animals and for a moment let them bask in the glory of being part of something that involves the community.  We received  2600 pesos.  The funds will be used to lay brick in some of the runs of the Kennels that in the rainy season turn into muck.  The dogs love it  .... but we, who have to clean the dogs, the runs and the Kennels don't.  'Gudrun'.

Three Gals and a Guy, present their latest work at a special exhibit with a gala opening reception to be held at the former Pedro's Gourmet location Ocampo #71, Saturday, August 21 from 3 to 6 p.m. We will also be there on Sunday August 22, from 1 to 5 p.m.

Come join us. There will be nibbles, a cash wine bar, and raffle tickets for a chance to win door prizes of a gift certificate to GO, Pedro's new upscale restaurant, and paintings by the artists. All proceeds from the raffle and cash bar will be donated to the Lakeside Spay & Neuter Ranch & Adoptions (formerly known as Lakeside Spay & Neuter Center, A.C)..

LAKESIDE SPAY & NEUTER CENTER A.C. was formed 10 years ago, when many individuals donated amounts of time, money and effort, both large and small, to build the Dog Ranch, and thus the Ranch has been, and still is, a community project. Please help us keep it going with your presence, your suggestions, and your support.
